Dear Friends,
As you are well aware, since December 2007 till December 2008, Euro-Asian Initiative for Patient Safety launched and implemented a frame project “Eastern European and Asian Organizations for Patient Rights and Safety” between 18 partner-countries of former soviet influence.
During the year the project has successfully developed: in each partner-country local expert group was created; cooperation between leading patients’ organizations, healthcare agencies and authorities was established; comparative analysis on patient safety in 18 partner-countries was carried out; English version of a Book “Patient Safety in Eastern Europe and Asia: Baselines and Advanced” was prepared and published thanks to cooperation with more than 120 partners of the project; five meetings of International Expert Group in Kiev, Warsaw, Tbilisi, Almaty and Chisinau were carried out; a program for cooperation between the partner-countries and the regions of the Initiative was developed.
We are sincerely grateful to East-East: Partnership Beyond Borders Program of Soros Network Foundation for financial support of the five meetings of the Initiative’s international expert group.
